Use the Windows SAM explorer to mange user accounts, groups and shares on Windows domain controllers, standalone servers and workstations.

Getting started

Click the main AdmWin tab labeled "SetupExplorer" to access SetupExplorer. It is also possible to start AdmWin with the command line parameter "/se" to enter SetupExplorer directly on startup.

Select machine



·Enter a Windows 2003, XP, 2000 or NT machine name in the "machine" combo box. (The name of the local machine is always entered automatically on startup.) SetupExplorer will automatically set machine mode (Domain controller / Standalone / Workstation) according to the selected machine.  
·Click the "machine" combo box down arrow to select one of the latest 10 machines.  

Domain status



·The status bar (at the bottom of the main window) shows machine type, domain name, number of PDCs, BDCs, Stand alone servers, workstations and others (W9x, Unix etc.) in the selected domain.  
·Every time a machine name from a new domain is entered, the domain status is updated. It is also possible to update the domain status by clicking the status bar in the account view.  

Select what to explore



·Click the accounts tab to explore accounts, RAS, WTS and AD properties  
·Click the groups membership tab to explore group membership.  
·Click the shares tab to explore shares.
