Start and end a remote process

1) Enter WinRemote

Start AdmWin, click the tab labeled "WinRemote".

2) Select a remote machine

Enter the name of a remote NT based (NT, 2000, XP or 2003) machine in the "machine" box.

3) Start notepad on the remote machine

a) Change timeout to 0.

b) Type "notepad" in the input window.

4) View the desktop of the remote machine

Press the "print screen" button for a screen shot of the remote desktop.

5) Close notepad on the remote machine

a) Click the "processes" tab, click "refresh".

b) Click the column labeled "created" to sort processes by when created.

c) Select the notepad process with Process ID returned in the command output window (1520 above).

d) Click the "end" button.

e) Click "yes" in the dialog.

6) Make sure that the process has ended

Click the "check" button to see if the process is still running (it should not be).
