Database server requirements and preparations

The database server can run almost any operating system as long as

·it is possible to create a script / program that automatically extracts the data file needed for each account server.
·there is a version of GnuPG or PGP available for the database server
·there is a command line e-mailer available for the database server (a command line FTP client if data is to be transferred by FTP)

Windows 2000 / NT account servers requirements and preparations

The account servers can run any NT version from 3.51 to Windows 2003. Each account server needs its own copy of SetupBatcher.

Preparations

·Install AdmWin - notice that a domain license is required for automated command line operation
·Create e-mail addresses for the servers on a reliable POP3 server - these addresses are used for the transfer of account details from the database server to the account servers (FTP addresses on a FTP server if data is to be transferred by FTP)
·Install GnuPG and generate keys - used to encrypt / sign / decrypt / verify data
·Enable the schedule service - needed in order to run AdmWin on a regular basis
·Install Blat command line e-mailer - only needed if the Administrator should be alerted by e-mail if script fails
